Dr. Thomas William Edgeworth, 85, died Sunday, October 14, 1979 in a Charleston Hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services were at 11 am Tuesday, October 16th in the .
Old Johnsonville United Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway.
Dr. Edgeworth was born in Cheraw, a son of the late William Thomas and Eva Burch Edgeworth. He was a graduate of the Southern Dental College of Atlanta, Ga. Dr. Edgeworth began his practice in Pageland and later moved to Oteen, N. C., where he practiced with a Veteran's Administration Hospital for 22 years. He was a veteran of WWI and a member of the Old Johnsonville Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Clarice Huggins Edgeworth of Johnsonville; a son, Winston Eugene Edgeworth of Johnson City, Tenn.;a daughter, , Mrs Catherine E. Smith of Fayetville, N. C.; a brother,R. Lovel Edgeworth of Norfolk, Va.;three sisters, Mrs Val Camlin of Georgetown, Mrs Edith Haddon of Charlotte, N. C. and Mrs Emma Barders of Calhoun, Ga.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren .
