JAMES MULLEN RITES MONDAY
Services to be at St. Joseph's Church

James F. Mullen, 62, for many years one of the operators of the general store at Dougherty, died at a Mason City hospital Friday night at 11:40 o'clock, following a short illness.

Mr. Mullen was born May 17, 1883, at Argyle, Wis. He moved to Dougherty when 5 years of age and later with his father and brother, John, entered the general store, known as J. Mullen and Sons. He retired from the business about 6 years ago and moved to Mason City, where he resided at 508 5th S.E.

On Sept. 20, 1921, he was married to Kathryn Hogan, at St. Patrick's Church at Dougherty.

Surviving are his wife; a sister, Margaret Mullen; and two brothers, Robert and John, all of Dougherty. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. The Rosary will be said at the residence at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday evenings. The Tabernacle Society will say the Rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Mullen was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.
