Wilma Cranwell, 85, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born on April 22, 1922, in the Scranton area, the daughter of Tom and Jane Dunn Michaels. She lived all her life in Osage County.
Wilma graduated from Carbondale High School and had worked for the Kansas Department of Education as a supervisor. She retired in 1987 after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Melvern United Methodist Church and the Westview Circle Club.
On Sept 28, 1940, Wilma was united in marriage to Don Cranwell in Ottawa. Don preceded her in death on Jan 31, 1983.
Wilma is survived by her two sons, Larry Cranwell and wife, Lorene, of Topeka; and Wayne Cranwell and wife Pamela, of Lyndon; one brother, Fred Michaels of Junction City; three sisters: Gertrude Blackburn of Dyersburg, Tenn, Dorothy Abend of Topeka and Lorraine Simon of Mankato, Kan; four granddaughters: Staci Fleischer and husband Todd, Shawna Swaffer and husband Brian; Annie May and husband Daryl, and Shelly Cranwell; and three great hrandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, June 18, 2007, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial was in the Lyndon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Melvern United methodist Church or Midland Hospice and sent to Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, Kansas 66451.
