Richard G. Boardman, 92, of East Moline,
formerly of Hillsdale, died Wednesday,
Dec. 31, 2008, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice
House, Bettendorf.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at
Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline.
Burial will be at Mt. Maria Cemetery,
Hillsdale. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m.
on Friday at Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron.
Memorials may be made to Wildwood Baptist
Church or Bethel Baptist Church, Port Byron.

Mr. Boardman was born July 15, 1916, in Coe
Township, the son of Albert M. and Sarah
Corrin Boardman. He married Eloise R. Ropp
on Nov. 21, 1940, in Hillsdale. She died
on April 10, 2001. He then married Mary
Jane Perrine on June 28, 2003, in Rock Island.

Richard was a lifetime farmer in the
Hillsdale area. He was a member of
Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline,
and was a former member of Bethel Baptist
Church, Port Byron. He also was a member
of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau and
was active in soil and water conservation.

Survivors include his wife; a son and
daughter-in-law, Al and Rita Boardman,
Hillsdale; grandchildren, Richard R.
(Jill) Boardman, Cordova, Benda Boardman,
Austin, Texas, Ronald Boardman, Sterling,
and Abby Boardman, Hillsdale; brother,
Robert Boardman, Port Byron; stepdaughters,
Carol (Gary) Heitman, Davenport, and Sherry
(Glenn) Brummet, Moline; and a stepson,
Kirk (Kathleen) Perrine, Crescent City, Fla.;
nine stepgrandchildren; and several
stepgreat-grandchildren
