Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center Activities Department or to a favorite charity.
Mary Jane was born on September 20, 1918, in Moline, the daughter of Alfred A. and Minnie E. (Swanson) Nitzel. She married Martin L. Perrine on October 17, 1936, in Chandlerville, IL. He preceded her in death in 2003. She later married Richard G. Boardman and he passed away on December 31, 2008. Mary Jane had previously worked at JCPenney in Moline. In her earlier years, she enjoyed oil painting and flower gardening. She also liked sewing and crafts.
Survivors include her children, Carol (Gary) Heitman, Davenport, Sherry (Glenn) Brummet, Moline, Kirk (Kathleen) Perrine, Canton, GA; grandchildren, Dawn Clark (George Hendricks), Greg (Maria) Clark, Gary (Faith) Heitman, Zachary (Rhoni) Perrine, Luke (Theresa) Perrine, Lisa Kuhn, Brealynn (Timar) Cuny, Anna Perrine, Matt Shinkle, and Michelle Quest; 15 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, sons, Bryce Perrine, Mark Perrine, sisters, Marian Fries, Shirley Johnson, and a brother Richard Nitzel.
