Charles J. White, age 6 years, was enumerated August 20, 1850, at Vanderburgh County, Indiana, with James White 38, Sarah White 43, William S. White 10, Henry C. White 9, Mary E. White 3, Sarah A. White 7 months. Charles J. White, age 14 years, was enumerated July 30, 1860, at Marysville, Yuba County, California, with Sarah White 53, William S. White 20, Henry C. White 19, Mary E. White 12, Anna White 9.

 

Charles J. White, age 19 years one month, enlisted at Marysville, California, December 12 and mustered in as a private of Captain Charles G. Hubbard's Company G, 8th California Infantry, at Marysville, December 17, 1864. Private White was discharged at Fort Point, San Francisco, October 24, 1865.

 

Charles James White, age 21 years, registered to vote in Sutter County, California, during 1867. Charles White, age 24 years and a farm laborer, was enumerated during 1870 at Sutter, Sutter County, California. On June 10, 1874, he married his wife, Susie Harwood in Evansville, Indiana.

 

Charles J. White, age 34 years, was enumerated during June 1880 at Sutter, Sutter, California, with Susan White 25 Wife, Annie White 4 Daughter, Harriet E. White 4 months Daughter, Harriet Moore 50 Mother-in-law.

 

Charles J. White , age 54 years and a carpenter, was enumerated June 6, 1900, at Yuba, Sutter California, California, with Annie H. White 24 Daughter, Hattie E. White 20 Daughter, Mamie E. White 17 Daughter, Alice M. White 10 Daughter, Ruth M. White 6 Daughter, Bernice White 2 Daughter.

 

C. J. White, age 63 years and a carpenter, was enumerated April 19, 1910, at Yuba, Sutter County, California, with Alice White 20 Daughter, Bernice White 12 Daughter.

 

Chas. White Found Dead in Bed This Moring

Charles White, a pioneer resident of Yuba and Sutter counties, and a member the Grand Army of the Republic affiliated with Corinth Post of Marysville, was found dead in bed about 7:30 o'clock this morning at the Arlington House on Fourth St., where he has been residing for the post several years. Heart failure is believed to have been the cause of death. The deceased was in good spirits last night, taking his usual walk and retired about 9 o'clock. He appeared to be in the best of health. Charley White, as he was familiarly known among his friends, was 72 years of age and was born in Evansville, Indiana. He came to Sutter Co. forty-one years ago, when he moved to Marysville to reside. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Richard Walton, of Yuba City; Hattie White, of Salem, Oregon; [Mrs.] T. B. Johnson and Bernice White of Chico, Butte County; Ruth Morley of Alturas, Modoc County, and Alice Morehead of Sacramento to. The remains have been taken in charge by Kelly Bros. The funeral of Charles White is being held in the Chapel of Kelly Bros. Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, under the auspices of Corinth Post, No. 80, Grand Army of the Republic. Members of the G. A. R. are requested to assemble at Kelly Bros. chapel at 2. Interment will be made in the Yuba City cemetery.

War Veteran Is Laid to Rest.

The funeral of Charles White, aged resident of this city found dead in bed last Friday morning, was held from the chapel of Kelly Bros., Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services were under the auspices of Corinth Post, No. 80, G. A. R. Allen Cooley acted as commander and W. E. Tucker was chaplain. Following the services interment was made in the Yuba City cemetery. The following comrades of the deceased acted as pallbearers: Isaac Drake, G. W. Sutliff, W. E. Tucker, James Van Buskirk, Allen Cooley, John S. Devoe, N. Robinson and William Regan. Mrs. E. A. Barr and Mrs. Earl Monson rendered vocal solos.
