OCTOBER 29, 1902

Elmer Fitzgerald, brother of our townsman, Solomon Fitzgerald, died on Tuesday of last week at his home near Newmansville, and was buried in the Lutheran Cemetery near that place on Wednesday afternoon. The desceased was born at Scotch Hill, Clarion County, in the year 1862, and was always an energetic, industrious man until a few years ago when that dreaded disease, consumption, laid its hold upon him, since which time he has been a great sufferer. He is survived by a wife and four sons and a daughter.

Elmer Fitzgerald, whose farm is located between Newmansville and Golinza, died at his house on the 20th inst., after an illness extending over several years of lung trouble. The desceased who was a half brother of our townsman, Solomon Fitzgerald, was well known to many of our citizens, having been a frequent visitor to our town. He was aged 40 years and leaves a wife and five children besides many friends to mourn his death. Mr. Fitzgerald was a member of the M.E. Church. The funeral was held on Wednesday, last, the interment being in the Lutheran Cemetery near Newmansville.
