Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Channing Cemetery in Channing. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Continental Parlor in Amarillo with Alan Williamson, chaplain of Park Central Retirement Community, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Margaret was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Panhandle to Walter and Amelia Lill. She graduated from West Texas State University in 1942. She was a teacher at Briscoe, Groom, Panhandle and Channing.
Margaret also was a County Home Demonstration Agent for Oldham and Armstrong counties. She was a member of First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Budd Clifford Smith, in 1988; and two sisters, Hazel Lill and Helen Gilkerson.
Survivors include a niece, Marilyn Grisham of Panhandle; a nephew, Michael Gilkerson of San Diego; two great-nieces; a great-nephew; a great-great-niece; and two great-great-nephews; and a special longtime friend, June Cox.
A family "Celebration of Life" is planned for spring.
