PANHANDLE (Spc) - Services for Mrs. Helen Gilkerson, 62, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vernon O'Kelly, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gilkerson was born Sept. 17, 1916 in Carson County and died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. She was a graduate of Panhandle High School and married R.L. Gilkerson March 8, 1942 in Wichita Falls.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a former teacher and member of the Altruian Club.

She was a secretary and experience clerk at Pantex before her retirement last year.

Survivors include her husband, R.L., of the home; one son, Mike of Portland, one daughter, Mrs. Weldon (Marilyn) Grisham of Panhandle; her father, Walter Lill of Panhandle; one sister, Mrs. Bud Smith of Channing; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday afternoon in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vernon O'Kelly, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Panhandle Cemetery.

Mrs. Gilkerson, born in Carson County, was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and belonged to the Altruian Club. She was also a secretary at Pantex.

Survivors include her husband, R.L., a son, Mike of Portland, a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Grisham, Panhandle; her father, Walter Lill of Panhandle; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Smith of Channing, and two grandchildren.
