Lois M. Johnson, 87, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Briar Hill Nursing Home. Funeral services are 4 p.m. today at Dry Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 2-4 p.m. today. Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home of Pearl is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church and retired from Mississippi State Hospital. A loving mother and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garvin Johnson and daughter-in-law, Ruby Hudgins Johnson.
Survivors include her son, Gerl Johnson of Bay St. Louis; sisters, Bertrez Uskivich of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Billie Jean Keen of Jackson, and Olean Byrne of Florence; grandchild, Jennifer "Nikki" Johnson; great grandchildren, Keegan Johnson and Sage Pierson.
Memorials may be made to Dry Creek Cemetery Fund, 2442 Star Rd., Florence, MS 39073.
The family would like to thank the staff of Briar Hill Nursing Home and a special thanks to Wanetta Sheppard who provided exemplary care and love.
