Funeral services for Minnie A. Nurse were held Saturday, Nov. 26, 1988, at Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap. Elder Bryce Argotsinger officaited at the 2 p.m. service. Music was provided by Barbara Amsberry.
Internment was made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Hewitt, Jeff Isom, George Gage and Cliff Smith.
Minnie Alvena Nurse was born to George and Inez Miller Fouts on December 21, 1892. She was one of four children. At the age of 10 she was orphaned and lived with her Grandmother Miller in Dow City, and after a time she moved to live with an aunt around David City and Lincoln, Nebr.
On February 24, 1913 she married Ziba Nurse. At that time they started farming. One daughter, Ruth, was born to this union.
They retired from the farm and moved into Dunlap where they owned and operated a boarding house. Later they moved into their home on South 6th St., in Dunlap. Ziba died in 1969. Minnie continued to live in her home until failing health caused her to move to the Good Shepard Nursing Home in Blair, Nebr. She died Thursday, Nov. 24, 1988, at Blair, Nebr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, husband and son-in-law, Paul C Hewitt.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Hewitt Reitz of Texas; three grandchildren, Bob Hewitt of Omaha, Nebr.., Audrey Gage of Bliar, Nebr., and Larry Hewitt of Omaha, Nebr., and seven grandchildren.
