Lawrence Kriege age 83 of Gregory, SD and formerly of Kimball and Winner, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Avera Rosebud Country Care Center in Gregory.

Lawrence R. Kriege was born July 14, 1924 in Winner, SD to Adolph and Bertha (Bartels) Kriege. Lawrence was a lifetime farmer and rancher in the Winner and Kimball areas. He enjoyed doing work as a handyman.

Lawrence served in the United States Army Infantry during World War II in the Province of Luzon, Philippians. He received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Lawrence is survived by two nieces, Cherie (Dallas) Lafferty of Reliance, SD and Carol (David) Bonnel of Newell, OK, one nephew, Bill (Debbie) Ernst of Stickney, SD and one granddaughter along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Rick and one daughter Karen, one brother Robert, two sisters, Fern and Dorothy.
