"Mrs. Anna Hoffine, Benzie Resident, Dies
Mrs. Anna Hoffine, well known resident of Almira township for the past 28 years, died at her home, Monday at 4pm.
Mrs. Hoffine was born in Huron county, Ont., Dec. 7, 1864, and came to Michigan with her parents at the age of two years, settling in Osceola county, where she was united in marriage to George Hoffine on April 4, 1888. The couple later came to Leelanau county where they resided for four years, then moving to Lake Ann where she had since made her home. Her husband preceeded her in death ten years.
Left to mourn their loss are two sons, Harvey of Cleveland, Ohio, and Floyd at home; two daughters, Mrs. Alta Bare of Flint and Mrs. Alice Ansorge of Cedar, Route 2; six grandchildren and two brothers, Charles Benzing of Reed City and William of the upper peninsula, besides other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service will be held at Lake Ann church with burial in Oakwood cemetery."
