Mrs. Gray was born May 29, 1919, in Pine Bluff, to the late Robert Drakeford and Elizabeth Larue Hardin Watts. She was reared and received her education in Pine Bluff, where she graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1940.
Roberta L. Watts married James Howell Gray on November 17, 1939, in Pine Bluff. Mr. Gray passed away February 2, 1970.
Mrs. Gray owned and operated two businesses in Pine Bluff, Jimmy's Drive Inn and The Chicken Shack Cafe. She was also a sales clerk at The Cloth Shop for nine years before retiring.
She was a lifetime member of Pine Bluff First Assembly of God, where she was a member of the Sonshiners Group. She was also a member of the American Business Women's Association.
Her survivors include two sons, James Robert "Jimmy" Gray and his wife, Rae of Overland Park, Kansas and Terry G. Gray of Rison; a daughter, Linda Jo Gray Ferguson of Greenbriar; six grandchildren, Kelly Gray, Tracy Gray, Aisa Ferguson Watson, Adam Cord Ferguson, Toby L. Gray and Lyndsay E. Gray; a brother, Leslie Hilburn Watts and his wife, Madge of Oklahoma.
Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James H. Gray, six brothers, Robert (her twin), Jack, Arthur, Randall, Donald, and Harry Watts, and a sister, Juanita Milligan.
