Note: The "Graves Restoration Project"
gives his "year of birth" as 1810,
but the biography on Neely Frame in
"History of St. Joseph County Indiana"
on page 741, states that he was
born on Oct. 29, 1809.
Also, his obituary states that he
died on Oct. 3, 1886, at the age of
76 years, 11 months, and 4 days.

He came with his parents from
Preble County Ohio, to Wayne County
Indiana "about" 1821, and
then they settled in Portage
Prairie (North of South Bend),
in Warren township, St. Joseph
County Indiana in 1833.

Indiana, to Catherine Leach, the
daughter of Daniel and Nancy Leach.

Neely Frame served in the Civil War,
in Company B, of the
48th Indiana Infantry.

of comsumption.

He owned 140 acres in Section 13 of
Lincoln township, St. Joseph County
Indiana.

He was elected as the first Justice
of the Peace in Lincoln township.

"South Bend Weekly Times" newspapaer,
in South Bend, Indiana, on
Oct. 8, 1886, page 7.

"St. Joseph County Independent"
newspaper, in South Bend, Indiana,
on Oct. 9, 1886:

DIED - At his residence, one mile
north of Walkerton, Sunday,
October 3, at 5 o'clock p.m.
Neely Frame, aged 76 years, 11 months,
and 4 days, of consumption. The
deceased was a native of Ohio and
located here in an early day. A wife
and ten children survive him. He was
buried from the M.E. Church in this
place at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
The funeral services were conducted
by Rev. Hildebrand. The funeral
procession was nearly a half mile
long.
