ABE KUHN FOUND DEAD IN ROOM AT LOCAL RESIDENCE.

End Comes Suddenly to Well Known Citizen.

Death, due to heart failure, some time during the night or early morning, claimed as victim Abe Kuhn, aged about 45 years one of the best known residents of Monroe. The discovery was made by Mrs. D. E. Laupheimer in whose house, at 401 Breard street, Mr. Kuhn has resided for the past four or five years. Upon the discovery, which was entirely accidental, hasty word was sent to the coroner, Dr. C. P. Gray, and investigation was made. Death was termed due to heart failure and it was stated by the physician that the man had been dead perhaps eight or nine hours.

Mr. Kuhn, who was single, had been living a leisurely existence of late, having acquired a considerable sum of money during earlier years of active business, had been in good health up to several days ago when he complained of not feeling well. A physician had prescribed for him.

Last night he sat on the porch of the Laupheimer home, chatting with friends and seemed to feel much better. He retired late.

This morning, Mrs. Laupheimer instructed the maid not to disturb Mr. Kuhn's room that he might get what rest he needed. When 11 o'clock came this morning and he had made no indication of arising, Mrs. Laupheimer knocked at the door to see if he wished coffee served. There was no reply. Then she advanced to the chair and was shocked to find that the man was dead.

After the coroner's visit, the body was taken to Peters' morgue where it now remains pending the making of funeral plans.

M. Kuhn was connected with one of the oldest families of Monroe and was the son of the late Sam Kuhn, one of the city's old time prosperous citizens. He is survived by the following brothers: A. S. Kuhn, Gus Kuhn, Lee Kuhn and Lazarus Kuhn. One sister, Mrs. J. S. Block, also survives.

The funeral will be held on Friday, the time and place to be announced later.
