SALOME CARRASCO
Rosary will be said for Salome Olivas Carrasco, 89, of Loving, at 7 p.m. today in the San Jose Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. The Rev. Dominic Manion will officiate. Burial will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery.
Carrasco died Sunday, (Nov. 29, 1992) at Guadalupe Medical Center. He was born Oct. 22, 1903 in Chihuahua, Mexico, and came to the U.S. at age three.
He married Teresa Varela on May 15, 1925, in Redford, Texas. The couple moved to Malaga in 1926 to establish a family farm. In 1947, they moved to Black River Village, and in 1950, they moved to Loving where Mrs. Carrasco preceded him in death in December 1983.
Carrasco was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Loving and the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by two sons, Elias Carrasco and E.V. Carrasco, both of Loving; four daughters, Emiteria Molinar of Loving, Isabel Santos of El Paso, Elfida Armendarez of Alpine, Texas, and Ernestina Gonzales of Albuquerque; one brother, Pablo O. Carrasco of Redford, six sisters, Manuela Hernandez of Hillsboro, Oregon, Maria Ruiz of Rigley, Calif., Petra Gonzales of Loving, and Angelita Hensley, Francisca Holguin and Cleo Rodriguez, all of Carlsbad; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ysidro C. Molinar Jr., Jeff Gonzales, Gilbert Armendarez, Juan Santos Jr., Mario Carrasco and Sal Lucero.
