Mishawaka Enterprise, Aug. 16, 1935, p. 1:
"Former Resident Dies in Canton, O.
Mrs. Mary Witwer, age 82, who lived in Mishawaka until 15 years ago and was widely known here, died Wednesday in her home at Canton, Ohio. Her husband, A. C. Witwer, who preceded her in death, formerly operated a grocery store on South Cedar street here.

Surviving Mrs. Witwer are a son, William L., and a daughter, Hazel E., both of Canton; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Warner of Plymouth, Ind., Mrs. Elizabeth Nichols of Twin Lakes, Ind., Mrs. Amanda Greenberg of South Bend, and Mrs. J. C. Liggett of Aleda, Ill., and a brother, E. S. Witwer, of S. Mill street, this city.

The body will arrive tonight from Canton, and may be viewed Friday night in the Sprague chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Sprague chapel by the Rev. O. R. McColgin, pastor of the First Christian Church. Interment will be in the city cemetery."
