Schmitz Raymond O., 64, Maple Grove. Went on to the next leg of his journey after a valiant fight against emphysema. Ray had a long career cooking in many fine restaurants around town, including his own. Preceded in death by father, Clement Schmitz. Ray is deeply missed by wife, Susan (Koelker) Schmitz; stepchildren, Andrew and Chelsea Piechocki; mother, Josephine Schmitz, Mpls; sister, Joan Burcell, CA; brother, Clem (Joanie) Schmitz, TN; many, many other wonderful friends and relatives and his feline friends, Smokey, Kiki and Tipsy. Service Monday 6:30pm-Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd. Visitation 5-6:30pm prior to service. Memorials preferred to the family.
