Capt. Andrus was a former chief deputy to Sheriff Delmar Larson and ran for sheriff in 1966 on the Republican ticket. He was in charge of the patrol, traffic, detective and juvenile divisions under Sheriff Larson.
Capt. Andrus was born July 29, 1911, in Salt Lake City, a son or Orson and Mary Williams Andrus. He married Dorothy Holohan in 1945. She died in 1961.
He is survived by a son, Pat, Magna; two sisters, Mrs. Dennis (LaVerne) Bowthorpe, Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Glenn (Ruby) smith, Meridian, Idaho.
burial will be in the Elysian Burial Gardens.
