HOLLADAY — Mervin V. (Jack) Andrus, 51, 2733 Casto ln., was found dead at his residence Friday about 9 a.m. Death was due to a heart ailment according to attending physicians.
His wife, Mrs. Vera Casto Andrus, is in a Salt Lake hospital with a heart ailment.
Mr. Andrus was born March 7, 1898, in Holladay, a son of Orson and Mary Williams Andrus and was educated in Holladay schools.
Employed as a machinist foreman at Tooele ordnance depot, he formerly worked at Remington arms plant. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his widow; two brothers, C. Loyal Andrus, Holladay, and Ferris D. Andrus, Salt Lake City, and three sisters, Mrs. LaVerna Bowthorpe, Holladay; Mrs. Bertha Sutherland, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Ruby Smith, Boise.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:30 p.m. in Mt. Olympus L D S ward chapel, 2550 E. 48th South, by J. Reese Baird, bishop, Olympus South ward.
Friends may call at 4760 S. State Sunday evening and Monday until 11:30 a.m. and at the ward chapel 15 minutes prior to funeral. Burial will be in Holladay cemetery.
