MRS. BARBER
LANETT -- Mrs. Mary Hazel Barber, 84, of Lanett died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. at Claude A. McKibben and sons Funeral Home Chapel in Hogansville with the Revs. Wayne Settle and Donnie Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Rocky Mount community of Meriwether County.
Mrs. Barber is survived by two daughters, Nan Ingram of Lanett aned Linda Mae Blakely of Kelleyton, Ala.; two sisters, Inez Caldwell of Luthersville, Ga., and Alma King of Huguley; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Born March 20, 1923 in Meriwether County, Mrs. Barber was the daughter of the late William Chester Shelton and the late Kitty Gross Shelton. She had been a resident of the Vlley area since 1978, was a member of Lanier Baptist Church in Lanett and was retired from the Live Oak Divison of Milliken and Co., in LaGrange. Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband William Ray Barber and her daughter, Barbara Jen Rice.
The family will receive friends at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville Monday, Oct 29 from 6 to 9 p.m.
