James married Charlotte Hewitt Cuff, a widow, on the 19th of Nov. 1902 in Greenock Twp. Charlotte was with James and his younger children including daughter Elizabeth Faye on the farm in Greenock, and on Durham St. Kincardine in 1921. Charlotte passed in 1924 followed in 1928 by James. Charlotte is interred with her parents in Kincardine Cemetery.

1901 census, the family lived on 6th of Greenock, near the Russell family. John was the son of James H Rowe and Elizabeth Louisa [McIntosh], John McIntosh Rowe was born 11 Jan 1891 Kincardine Twp. John was living in Cowley Alberta when he enlisted on the 19 Feb 1916 at Portage laPrairie. John served as Private WWI, serial #115970, Canadian Infantry Alberta Reg't, D Coy, 10th Btn, He was 5'6", with blue eyes and brown hair, religion Church of England. A month later he came down with Influenza while he was still in Portage LaPrairie. To England 10 May 1916 and to France 4 Sept 1916.
30th May gunshot wound to the left thigh (and perhaps mumps) treated in France and England and back on duty 23 Sept 1917. Missing and presumed dead on 3 Sept 1918 at Arras, France. Article from Kincardine Reporter on Bruce Remembers says father was living 6th Conc of Greenock at the time of John's death. Brothers James Edgar and Thomas Nelson also both served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in WWI.
