"Mrs. LaVerne Catherine Johnson Brooks, 73, formerly of 506 E. 3rd South, died Saturday 9 a.m., in a Bountiful hospital after an illness.
Born Jan. 12, 1890, Salt Lake City to John Phillip and Anna O. Sandberg Johnson. Married to Edwin U. Brooks, 1911, Salt Lake City. He died in 1937.
Former custodial employe, University of Utah. Member, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors; sons, daughter, Edwin E. (Ted), San Francisco; Carl V., Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Elaine Wynne, Hartford, Conn.; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. May Linnell, Mrs. Bertha Smith, both Salt Lake City."
