Melvin Herman Troudt, 58, died last Sunday at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings. Services were last Wednesday at Simonson-Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Red Cloud, with the Rev. Don Yancheson officiating.
Troudt, son of Herman and Bessie Hofmeister Troudt, was born March 27, 1936, on a farm southwest of Bostwick. The youngest of six children, he had
three brothers and two sisters.
They lived in Superior for awhile and then moved back to the farm in the Bostwick area. He attended
rural elementary school in Nuckolls County and Superior High School.
In 1954, he entered the United Stales Army and served
for two years, being discharged in 1956.
Troudt was united in marriage to Donna Henderson,
Jan. 13, 1957, at Mankato. They lived in and around the Superior area until 1959, when they moved to
New Mexico. He worked road construction throughout the state.
They returned to Nebraska in 1960, and lived in Guide Rock until 1961. They moved throughout the states of Nebraska and Kansas. His work took the family to Texas where they lived until 1976, when they returned
to Guide Rock. The last few years, Troudt drove a semi-truck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald, Doyle and Loren; and a sister, Evelyn.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, Guide Rock; a daughter, Mrs. Roger Amack (Penny), Superior; two sons, Phil, Wood River, Leslie, Jacksonville, N.C.;
a sister, Mrs. Joe Sykes (Dorothy), Superior.
