Bessie E. Troudt died in the Good Samaritan Center, Superior, Friday at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 25 days.

The funeral was Monday at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harold Kaufmann officiating.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Bessie Edna Troudt, one of seven children, was born to Adam and Bertha Diehl Hofmeister Feb. 28, 1898, on a farm near Kingston, Ill. She attended elementary school in Illinois.

Jan. 31, 1919, she married Herman M. Troudt in Illinois. Six children blessed this union.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman, on Oct. 3, 1964; three sons, Loren in December, 1916 (sic), Doyle in January, 1977, and Donald in August, 1985; and three sisters, Alta Trout, Alverta Semke and Myrtle Fengle.

Survivors include one son, Melvin Troudt, Guide Rock; daughters, Mrs. Joe Sykes (Dorothy) of Superior and Mrs. Keith Petersen (Evelyn), York; brother, Clifford Hofmeister, Bladensville, Ill; sisters, Mrs. Walter Mixer (Susie) of Prairie, Ill., and Zelma Jackson, Liberty, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
