Donna Mae Troudt, the daughter of Bina Darlene (Hunsaker) and Leland Reed Henderson, was born March 11, 1940 at Concordia, Kansas. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Brodstone Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 77 years and 4 months.

Donna was united in marriage with Melvin Herman Troudt on January 13, 1957 at Mankato, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children, Penney Lee, Phillip Lynn and Leslie Dean. They lived in and around the Superior area until 1959, when they moved to New Mexico where Melvin was employed in construction work. They returned to Nebraska in 1960 and lived in Guide Rock. Pursuing their working careers, they resided in a number of communities in Nebraska, Kansas and Texas. In 1976, they returned to the Guide Rock community to make their home. Through the years Donna had been employed in retail work, waitressing in cafes and working as a cook. Her personality was pervaded by a genuine kindness and desire to help others. She was happiest when she was involved with her community and serving her friends and family.

In her leisure time Donna enjoyed her home working in the yard, gardening and mowing. She volunteered for many years at the Guide Rock Library and loved doing story hour with the kids. She especially loved camping with her grandchildren and cooking for them at their camp sites. Her endearing smile and gracious nature will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew her.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Fairfield; the Guide Rock American Legion Auxiliary and the Guide Rock Funeral Committee.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Melvin, on September 25, 1994; grandson-in-law, Ryan Stocker; and brothers, Donald and Theodore Henderson.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Penney Amack of Superior, Nebraska; Phillip Troudt and wife Charlene of Guide Rock, Nebraska, and Leslie Troudt and wife, Filiz, of Oakton, Virginia. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Shanna Shunk and husband, Aaron of Guide Rock; Jerimiah Troudt of Lincoln, Nebraska; Amy Stocker of Beloit, Kansas; Brian Flaata and wife Chris of Superior, Nebraska; Chandler Taylor of Superior; Buse Troudt of Oakton; great grandchildren, Grandt and Ashleigh Beberniss; Aurora Taylor; Brittany and Zachary Stocker; Kaylee, Sophia and Cohen Flaata; other relatives and a host of friends.
