Duane Gene Adams

Henefer – Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Duane Gene Adams died January 8, 2011. He was born August 28, 1932 in Brigham City, Utah the son of Floyd William and Wanda Jeppsen Adams. Duane graduated from Bear River High and earned an Associate degree from Weber State College. He married Betty Mae Knowlden on November 2, 1952 in Evanston, WY; two days later he entered the Army and served for two years during the Korean War.

Duane was a member of the LDS Church. He and Betty were sealed in the Logan Temple July 9, 1953.

He worked at Hill AFB for 36 years as a traffic management specialist. After he retired from HAFB he remained active as a volunteer conductor at Ogden Union Station; also Sub for Santa and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Duane enjoyed bowling, was a master gardener and an avid reader. He also enjoyed pinochle and participated in several pinochle clubs.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty; children, Duane G. (Jan), Sherrie A. (Ron) Labrum, Brian L. (JoDee) and Sharlene K. (Kirt) Mockli; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and a brother, Gayle (Keith) Powell, LeAnne (Mike) McClellan and Leon (Leanne) Adams, also a sister-in-law Barbara Adams.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dallas Adams, sister, Colleen Adams and 2 grandsons, Colby and Courtney Adams.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., with a viewing prior from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park.
