Mrs. Harry Strine, 30 years of age, died Monday morning at her home in Monrovia after an illness of four weeks with pneumonia. Two years ago she began failing in health and a year ago her husband took her to Colorado where she spent the summer returning apparently improved. Mrs. Strine's maiden name was Roxie Parker. She was left an orphan at an early age, after which she made her home with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Ryan, then living west of Effingham now in Atchison. Ten years ago she was married to Harry Strine. They owned and operated the store at Monrovia. Besides the husband, three children, 8, 5 and 3 years of age are left to mourn the loss of a good wife and devoted mother. Mrs. Strine was a member of the Effingham Christian church. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church conducted by Rev. Doolittle, pastor of the Effingham Christian church. Interment was made in the Monrovia cemetery.
