Born in Lancaster County she was a daughter of the late W. J. and Molly Harris Young. She was a member of College Place United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Paul J. Quattlebaum of Columbia, Mrs. C. T. Howe of Hamlet, N.C., and Mrs. W. N. Sharpe of Sumter; a son, William D. Hagins of Irmo; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Bouknight and Mrs. Martha Sligh of Columbia and Mrs. Myrtle Dowdle of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Plans will be announced by Talbert-Shives Funeral Home.
The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to the Cancer Society.
