Adolph J. Kesel, 65, of St. Elizabeth, died Saturday, March 17, at a Jefferson City Hospital. A native of the Meta community, Mr. Kesel was born Nov. 23, 1913, a son of Henry and Mary Kattenbrack. On Jan. 10, 1940, at Meta, he was married to the former Miss Ruby M. Seaton, who survives.
Mr. Kesel was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth, where the funeral was conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Gerard Poelker officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Kesel was a member of the Holy Name Society and a life-long resident of the Meta-St. Elizabeth area.
Survivors include: Three sons, Michael Kesel, Fenton, and Robert Kesel and James Kesel, both of St. Elizabeth. One daughter, Mrs. Irene Wilbers, Jefferson City. One brother, Philip Kesel, St. Louis; and one sister, Mrs. Marie Frey, Kansas City.
The rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Stevinson Funeral Home, St. Elizabeth.
