Ruby May Kesel, 80, St. Elizabeth, died May 18, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Hoecker, a daughter of Albert and Elsie Barnhart Seaton. She was married Jan. 10, 1940, in Meta, to Adolph John Kesel, who died March 17, 1979. She worked for Langenberg Hat Factory in St. Elizabeth until her retirement. She also worked in the cafeteria of St. Elizabeth School. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth, and its St. Ann Sodality. Survivors include: three sons, Michael Raymond Kesel, Eureka, and Robert Lewis Kesel and James Dale Kesel, both of St. Elizabeth; one daughter, Elizabeth Irene Wilbers, Jefferson City; two brothers, Howard Seaton, Dixon, and Tommy Seaton, Greers Ferry, Ark.; one sister, Evelyn Strope, Meta; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. The Rev. John Degnan will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, St. Elizabeth, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Health Care Center Activities Fund.
