Clara (Edith) Crump, eldest daughter of John Crump and Elizabeth Smith was born about Apr 1885/86 in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, England.


Edith was 18 years old when her parents died (Elizabeth died on May 1, 1903 and John died on June 8, 1903). Edith is listed as being with both her parents when they died within three weeks of each other, leaving the seven children orphaned.


Clara (Edith) married Albert Morgan in abt 1905 in Gloucestershire County, England. Mary (Elizabeth) appears on the 1901 Census (age 14) as a servant for Edwards Family. Her younger sister, Dorothy who was about 9 years old when her parents died, appears on the 1911 British Census aged 17, that she was living in St Jude's Home for Girls (L Waifs & Strays Home 1904-1939), located at 49 Dangnall Park, Selhurst, London. On the 1911 Census she appears married to Edward T Ward with two daughters living in Epsom, Surrey.


On March 24, 1904, 10 months after Charles parents died, he was emigrated with 194 other Dr. Barnardo's children from Liverpool, England to Toronto, Ontario, Canada via Portland, Mane, aboard the SS Southwark. It is noted that his name was incorrectly listed as Clarence Frederick Crump. Charles arrived on April 5, 1904.


Her two younger brothers, Reg and Sid emigrated on February 21, 1907 from Liverpool, England to Toronto, Ontario, Canada via Portland, Maine, and Halifax, Nova Scotia Ports aboard the Dominion ship arriving March 5, 1907 and believed that the three boys were reunited in Saskatchewan years after they had been separated.


1911 England Census lists Edith Morgan, Married aged 25 yrs as an inmate at The Workhouse, 3 Alton Street, Ross, Herefordshire, England.


Death Record states Clara E Morgan died aged 68 death registration Jan-Feb-Mar 1956).
