George Wesley Heacox
A former resident of Altoona, died at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Merchantville, N.J., after an extended illness. He was born Dec. 2, 1875, in Westmoreland County, a son of George W. and Lydia (Johns) Heacox, and married Pearl Bowen, who preceded him in death. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Marguerite Weyandt of Johnstown, Charles of Magnolia, N.J., and Robert of Dearborn, Michigan; 16 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and a sister, Miss Mary of Altoona. Mr. Heacox was a member of the First E.U.B. Church, Altoona, and the B. of L.F. & E., having retired as an engineer for the P.R.R. Friends may call at the Lafferly Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
NOTE: George was married to Etta Pearl Bowen in 1899. Etta Pearl was born July, 1876 in Pennsylvania and died June 17, 1938 in Altoona, PA. No burial records for her have been located.
