Mrs. Lydia Heacox

Widow of George W. Heacox, died at 9:15 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Wallace of 510 East Atlantic Avenue of a complication of diseases incident to advanced age. She was born in Indiana County, March 5, 1846, and had resided in Altoona for the past forty-six years. Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Ada Benner of Canton, O., Mrs. William Wallace, Mrs. W. J. Smith, Mrs. S. W. Wallace, Miss Mary Heacox, R. B. Heacox, and George W. Heacox, all of this city. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Susan Brown of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Sarah Mardis of Johnstown, Mrs. Laura Shew of Juniata, Mrs. Mattie Quinn of Seward, Clinton Johns of Toledo, O., Taylor Johns of Arizona, and James Johns of Seward. She was a member of the First Methodist Church during her residence in Altoona and was an active member of the missionary society of the church. The pallbearers, all grandsons of the deceased, were Raymond Wallace, Albert Heacox, George Heacox, William Heacox, Charles Heacox, and Wesley Wallace. Interment was made in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
