Mrs. Chapman was a native of Emanuel County, Georgia and had been a resident of Brunswick for the past 83 years. She was a member of the Glyndale Baptist Church and was retired from W. T. Grant Co. in Brunswick.
Survivors are two daughters, Ovelyn Herring Morgan of Brunswick and Faye Herring Batten of Irmo, S.C., five step-children, A. J. Chapman, Billy Chapman, Sheldon Chapman, Shirley Goodbread all of Brunswick and Hadine Moon of Douglas, Ga., a brother, Dan W. Pope of Albany, Ga., 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday 1/10/11 in the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Creekmore and Rev. Sheldon Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Kevin Batten, Alan batten, Randy Morgan, Brian Morgan, Denny Strickland and Charles McCollum. Honorary pallbearers will be staff of Sears's manor Nursing Home.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM Sunday.
