Died 5:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 1994, at Medical Center of Baton Rouge. She was 86, a native of Shreveport, a resident of Whealdon Estates Retirement Center, Baton Rouge, and a former longtime resident of Denham Springs. She was a former school teacher.

Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 10 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Larry Miller. Interment in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.

Survived by a daughter, Janis J. Nettles, Hammond; a son, Richard W. Johnston, DeRidder; three brothers, Richard P. Eglin, Alexandria, J. Milton Eglin, Columbia, and William R. Eglin, Baton Rouge; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by husband, Clyde H. Johnston Sr.; and a son, Clyde H. Johnston Jr.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Denham Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church, 319 Mattie St., Denham Springs, 70726.
