Anfred was inducted into the US Army on August 31st 1918, and sent to Iowa for training at Camp Dodge. He was soon assigned to Casual Detachment 558, and was still stationed at the camp when the Armistice was signed in November.
Pvt. Abrahamson served for an additional 6 months in the military, before receiving an honorable discharge on May 26th 1919. His service number was 3693162.
Anfred later worked in a mercantile shop, but eventually became a nurseryman in Scandia, MN. He passed at the age of 65 on January 20th 1960, and is buried with his wife in the South Elim Lutheran Cemetery of Scandia, Minnesota.

Funeral services for Anfred Abrahamson, Scandia nurseryman, were held in Elim Lutheran church Tuesday with the Rev. Virgil Lundquist officiating. Burial was in Elim cemetery.
Mr. Abrahamson died of a heart attack Wednesday evening, January 20, while vacationing with his wife in Phoenix, Arizona. He was widely known as the found of Abrahamson's Nursery on highway 95, southwest of Scandia.
He is survived by his wife; two sons; a daughter; three brothers; one sister; and two grandchildren
