His mother died when he was young and he then made his home with his sister and her husband, Esther and Alec Carlson. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Almelund.
He married Edith Hall of Center City, June 29, 1929 and then joined the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City where he remained an active member the rest of his life.
They lived on a farm north of Center City until moving to Lindstrom in 1955. He farmed all of his life until moving to town where he drove school bus for 18 years and painted.
He died at his home of a heart condition on Sept. 26, 1982.
He is survived by his wife Edith; 2 sons and daughters in law, Marilyn and Nelda of Lindstrom, Ronald and Violet of Cedar Falls, Iowa and daughter Janet of Bloomington and six grandchildren; Kevin, Loren, Alan Sharon, carol and David Abrahamson. He is preceded in death by his parents, 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services were held Sep. 29 at Chisago Lakes Lutheran Church in Center City with Rev. Russell Peterson officiating and Mrs. Rita Knutson as organist.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Kevin, Loren, Alan and David Abrahamson and nephews Kelly and Burton Carlson.
