Zach Cooper's family came to America from England by his father Samuel Cooper. Some sources state his name as Zachaeus, and some state it as Zachariah. It is shortened to Zach, to keep the peace. Several of his children married Dixon's. According to Owen Dixon's genealogy book of 1940, Zach was a school teacher and a fiddle player. His fiddle that came from England was passed on to his son Peyton, then to his son, Jim, and on to his son Frank, then to Billy and lastly recorded, to Norton Cooper. Zach's wife may have been Susan. They are believed to have lived in middle Tennessee, where thy raised their family. May Zach rest in peace.
