Fond du Lac Daily Reporter, Wed. Nov. 25, 1896, p. 3:5. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schmitz went to Mt. Calvary this morning to attend the funeral of Mrs. Schmitz's mother, Mrs. Margaret Walgenbach, which takes place Thursday morning at 9 o'clock. Mrs. Walgenbach died Monday night at the age of 72 years. Her husband, the late Nicholas Walgenbach, passed away five months ago. They had been residents of the county for over fifty years.

Fond du Lac Daily Commonwealth, Wed. Nov. 25, 1896, p. 3:2. Another Pioneer Gone. Mrs. Walgenbach Came to Fond du Lac Fifty Years Ago. Mrs. Jacob Schmitz was called to Mt. Calvary today by the death of her mother, Mrs. Marguerita Walgenbach, who died at that place Monday at the age of 72 years. Mrs. Walgenbach has been a resident of Mt. Calvary for thirty years and for twenty years previous to that lived in the town of Forest. Her husband Nicholas Walgenbach died five months ago. When the couple first came to Fond du Lac county the population consisted almost entirely of Indians. Mrs. Walgenbach is survived by eight children, three sons and five daughters. The funeral will be held from her late residence to-morrow morning. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Those who will attend from this city will be Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schmitz, Messrs. Matthew, Joseph and John Hennen and Miss Rose Hennen.
