Elijah Kimzey is the son of David and Elizabeth Kimzey. He was born in South Carolina and lived with his parents in Buncombe Co, NC, Jackson Co, Ga, Dickson Co, Tn, Livingston Co, Ky, Gallitan, White and Hamilton co, IL. He married 23 Dec 1816 Gallitan Co, Il to Nancy Proctor daughter of Little Page Proctor and Sarah Jane Woodruff. Their children are Mary, John, and Benjamin.

. There is a Nancy Kimsey who is living in Moultrie County later and she buys land from the Railroad So he is dead before this date

" To all to whom presents shall come greeting whereas Nancy Kimsey of Shelby County, had deposited in the General land Office of the US a Certificat of the register of land at the of at Vandalia whereby it appears that full payment has been make by Nancy Kimsey according to the provisions of the act of Congress the 24th day of Apr 1820.
"the Northe east quarter of the south east quarter of section thirty four and th north wesst quarter of the south west quarter of section thirty five in township thirteen north of the base line of range five east of the third proncipal meridan in the district of land subject to sale at Vandalia, IL
Containing eighty acres."

The rest of his family, John moved 1834, Hecter McAlister & Mary, & Robert Moved to Peoria in 1839. William may have moved 1834 to Peoria. John buy state land in 1836 but they could still be living in Hamilton County. It looks like Elijah probably died between 1830 census and 1836 when Nancy buys land. She is called of Shelby Co Il. So they moved to Shelby Co before she bought the land.
