Viola Lucille Heyer Brooks, age 69, of Montgomery, IL passed away on Monday, March 11, 2002 at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora, IL. She was born on February 24, 1933 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Albert and Cora (Fleenor) Heyer.
    Viola was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aurora, IL. She was formerly employed for over twenty-three years by Western Electric in Montgomery. Viola was an avid gardener and a graduate of the University of Illinois Master Gardeners Program in St. Charles, IL. She was for several years a garden advisor during the Kane County Fair in St. Charles.
    She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jean Brooks of Tucson, AZ; her grandson, Nicolas James Brooks of Montgomery, IL; her brother, Reverend Edward Heyer and his wife, Jane of Hinckley, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Cora Fleenor; her former husband, James L. Brooks; and her son James L. Brooks.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, in Hinckley, IL with Pastor Jock Ficken officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley, IL.
    Friends may call from 9:30 am until the hour of service on Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple St., in Hinckley, IL.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund c/o St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 555 E. Benton St., Aurora, IL 60505.
