Peter Hammer was born in Buvig
Trondhjem Norway, April 16, 1839,
due to declining years together
with a brief siegee of pneumonia,
departed this life, Friday
morning, Jan. 17, 1930, at the age of
96 years, 9 months, and 2 days old.
In March, 1869, he immigrated to
America locating at Menominee,
Wis. Here he resided until the
following year when in July he
journeyed westward locating in Re~
public county state of Kansas.
In 1861, he was united in marriage
to Ingeborg Kvammen. To
this union were born eight children,
of which three sons and one daughter
were born in old country Norway and two
sons and two daughters were born in
America. Mr. Hammer is survived by four
sons, Peter, Lars, Ole and Alfred,
and three daughters, Mrs. J. R
Hugos; Mrs. E. M. Eastvedt, and
Carrie Ross, all residing near Norway,
Kans. He also leaves to mourn his loss,
a brother in Trondhjem Norway.
