Uncle Lawrence was drunk and walked into the side of a car. He was killed instantly. Death certificate has place of death Ventura, Calif. on Rincon Highway. Death certificate has wrong birth year on it. It has 1888.Venture Star, CA., July 5, 1945, pg. 3 Running directly into the path of a fast moving car on the Rincon highway, Lawrence Pinkney Beal, about 59, Southern Pacific railroad laborer, was killed instantly at 11:10 p.m., Tuesday, Coroner Ted Mayr reported today. According to Mayr, the victim, a resident of Marshall, Texas., had been drinking at a nearby inn. He ran across the highway, and was struck by a sedan driven by Harlen Estes, Oxnard. Beal's railroad foreman told the coroner the laborer had bad eyesight. Mrs. Lorraine Forbes and Miss Anita Hughes, both of Santa Barbara, passengers in Estes' car, substantiated the driver's story that Beal ran into the vehicle. There will be no inquest. Mayr stated Beal died from shock, head and internal injuries. The victim's widow, Annie, resides in Marshall, Texas. The body is at the Mayr funeral home.
