THE DEATH OF BERTHA PLATT - Stockwell - April 6 - Mrs. Bertha Platt, 47, native of Stockwell, died at the Lutheran hospital in St Louis at 8:30 o'clock yesterday morning. Mrs. Platt was born here Feb. 28, 1890 and married Claude Platt, later moving to Golconda, Ill., where she was living at the time of her death. She was a member of the Christian church. Surviving are the husband, five sons: Harold, of Garden City, Minn.; Clarence, of Havana, Ill.; Jay, of St. Louis; Chester, of Golconda; and Junior, at home; four daughters: Mrs. Grace Farner, of Golconda, Edna, of Garden City, Minn.; and Arla and Ruth, at home; her step-mother, Mrs. Martha Skinner, of here; a sister, Berdie Barnett, of Crawfordsville; and two brothers; Roscoe Baer, of Kokomo; and Joe, of Hartford, Conn. Funeral services will be conducted from the Christian church here at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, with burial in Johnson cemetery.[Platts.FTW]

Frankfort Morning Times, Friday, April 9, 1937, pg. 14 - FORMER STOCKWELL WOMAN BURIED THERE - Mrs. Claude Platt, a former resident of Stockwell, who died at St. Louis, Mo., was buried yesterday in Stockwell, her funeral being held at the Methodist church. Mrs. Platt's maiden name was Bertha Bear and she resided in Stockwell as a young woman.
