Charles Donald "Doc" Edwards, 74, LaBelle, died Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at LaBelle Manor Care Center, LaBelle. Born June 16, 1927, in Knox County, the son of Bert and Mina McCoy Edwards. He married Vida Mae Tripp, March 5, 1949, at LaBelle Christian Church parsonage by Rev. Donald Ambrosius. She preceded him in death July 3, 2001. Edwards attended Knox County school, was a member of the First Christian Church, LaBelle, the LaBelle American Legion Post #200, served in the army, and farmed. He retired in 1989 after 23 years as manager of the LaBelle MFA Oil Company. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Parrish and husband Keith, LaBelle, Mary Beth Miller and husband Mark, Knoxville, Iowa; son, Steve Edwards and wife Debbie, Edina; brother, Calvin Edwards and wife Margaret, Rutledge; sister Leona Peters, Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Melissa Howe, Angela Frink and husband Kyle, Kim Whitmire and husband Kevin, Chris and Shawn Parrish, Justin Parrish and wife Jenny, Michelle, Melinda and Melanie Miller; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Dylan and Dalton Howe, Brianna and Taylor Frink, Brittney Rudd, Nathaniel Parrish; step-great-granddaughter, Becca Whitmire; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son, Ronald L. Edwards, in infancy; brothers, Orville and Lester Edwards; sister, Ethel Hustead.
