Charline Dutro Malson Jordan, 85, of 23rd Street, died at 7 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon.
Mrs. Jordan, a member of New Life Church in North Vernon, formerly attended Faith Temple Pentecostal Church and Columbus Free Methodist Church. She was an avid IU, Bobby Knight and Chicago Cubs fan and loved old western movies and gospel music shows.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Alice Champion officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time today. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Charline Jordan Memorial Fund.
Born in Bartholomew County on Sept. 24, 1924, Mrs. Jordan was the daughter of Raymond and Bessie Morrison Dutro. She married Alva D. "A.J." Jordan on Dec. 2, 1955. He preceded her in death Jan. 25, 2004.
Survivors include a son, Dale (Toni) Jordan of Columbus; daughters, Jennie Malson and Dalene (Everrett) Taylor, both of North Vernon; grandchildren, Heather Hall, Nicole Axsom, Skyler Taylor, Marguerita and David Lynch; and great-grandchildren, Kyle Jacob and Kyla, Sarah and Zoe, Brooklyn, Hayley, Alva "A.J." and Ethan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Leonard "Jack" Dutro; and sisters, Elaine Pence, Sue Bennett and Capitola Dutro.
