W.W. CLICK GRADY PIONEER BURIED AT MINCO
Walter William Click, Grady County resident for 60 years, died at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma Sunday August 31, after a illness of 13 months. He would have been 68, Tuesday September 2. he was born in Saline, Texas September 2, 1879. Click came to Oklahoma as a child. He had been a Grady county resident for 60 years living in Minco and Chickasha.
Mr. Click was a army veteran, he served in both the Spanish American War and in putting down the Philippine insurrection. He was a member of the Joe Wheeler Camp No. 9 in Chickasha.
Last rites for Walter William Click 68, Grady Pioneer, were conducted at 9:30 Tuesday morning in the chapel of the Chickasha Funeral Home The services were conducted by Rev. W.A. Mitchell, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco.
Mrs. Marvin Woodworth and Miss Elsie Faye Verser sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "Good Night Good Morning", accompanied by Mrs. Wessie Burney Ray. Mrs. Woodworth sang a solo "The Rosary."
Pallbearers included, Leo Rice, Elmer Pinkston, D.D. Dobbins, Art Lauderdale, Frank Wall and Loyd Palmer. Honorary pallbearers were J.W. Beville, Wade Laboon, L.W. Mallonee, W.J. McIntosh, J.B. Smith and R.C. Henry.
Survivors include his wife Eva; two daughters, Miss Eva Lee click of the home and Mrs. Frank Chamber of Ft. Worth; his mother Mrs. A.G. Click of Compton, California; four brothers, Bert of Lawton, Creed of Big Bear, California, Jack of Oklahoma City and Alba of Compton; five sisters, Mrs. Jasper Albright of Elgin, Kansas, Mrs. Tom Brown of Mission, Texas, Mrs. Bruce Garris and Mrs. Tera Smith of Compton and Mrs. H.P. Smith of Bellflower, California
