The couple were married at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church near Olney on 22 August 1911 and then moved to the farm established by Willard's parents. Besides working with his parents to develop the farm property, Willard purchased the home place from his relatives and reared his family there.
Both are members of the Olney First Baptist Church, where he is a deacon and she is a Sunday school teacher. Their two sons are active lay Baptist preachers.
